Repeat Prescriptions

There are different ways to request a repeat presciption. Please allow 2-3 working days for us to process prescription requests before you collect them.

You can also nominate a pharmacy to have your prescription sent to directly.

The NHS App

The quickest and easiest way to request a repeat prescription is through the NHS App.

On the free NHS app you can order a repeat prescription in a few easy steps at any time, with no need to call the practice.

Through our website

Contact us online to order your prescription.

Save time and pick up at a pharmacy. Choose one online or on the NHS App.

By Telephone

Call 0191 219 6100, choosing option 3 and leave a message.

Or use the prescription line on 0191 219 6124 and leave a message.

Remember to tell us your name, address, date of birth, what medication and dose.

In-Person

Visit us at St Anthony's Health Centre and speak to the Reception Team. Please bring the repeat prescription form part of our last prescription.

Questions about your Prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you would like to speak to someone at the St Anthony's Health Centre about your prescription:

Local Pharmacy Services

You can enter your postcode on the NHS website to find a Pharmacy near you.

Through the NHS App, you can nominate a pharmacy to have your prescriptions send to directly.

If you are away from home, you can use the NHS App to create a prescription barcode, which you can use to collect your medication anywhere.

As well as dispensing medicine, your local pharmacist can help you with a range of common illness, including such as coughs, colds, sore throats, ear infections and aches and pains. This is called Pharmacy First
