Urgent Problems & Out of Hours

Life Threatening Emergencies

In a life-threatening emergency such as sudden severe chest pain, severe breathlessness, loss of power in a limb, loss of consciousness or severe bleeding dial 999.

Urgent Problems during Surgery Hours

If you have an urgent problem surgery opening hours call the surgery on 0191 219 6100. The receptionist will take some details about the problem and arrange for a doctor to contact you as soon as possible.

Injuries

We can deal with minor cuts and sprains at the surgery, or you can attend the Molineux Walk-In Centre in Byker, which is open between 8am and 8pm. Please note they do not see children under the age of two.

If you have a more serious injury for example a fracture, or in the event of poisoning or overdose you should attend the Emergency Department at the RVI. Please do not use the Emergency Department for minor illnesses or accidents which could be dealt with at the surgery or the Walk in Centre.
